Somehow we got in the crowd and watched the candlelight vigil. I teared up (it couldn't be helped). We snapped photos and wondered aloud about US economic ties to mainland China. Currently, Hong Kong and Taipei are de facto democracies (they say).
but but but
they still suppress the media!
they still hold prisoners from that fateful June day
and women's rights? pfft!
but economically speaking (ahhh...)
